- Porcelain Pool Tiles
Porcelain Pool Tiles represent the premium choice for pool tiling, offering exceptional durability, low water absorption, and design versatility. Made from refined clay fired at extremely high temperatures, porcelain tiles are denser and more durable than ceramic tiles, with water absorption rates typically below 0.5%. This makes them ideally suited for pool environments where constant water exposure and chemical treatment are factors.
Our porcelain pool tiles feature through-body color or pattern technology, meaning the design extends throughout the tile thickness rather than just on the surface. This makes them resistant to chipping and wear, maintaining their appearance even if surface damage occurs. They are available in a vast array of sizes, finishes (including polished, honed, textured, and wood-look), and designs that can mimic natural stone, concrete, or create unique contemporary patterns.
Porcelain tiles are ideal for high-traffic commercial pools, luxury residential installations, and any application where long-term durability and low maintenance are priorities. Their extremely low porosity prevents water penetration, reduces the risk of freeze-thaw damage in colder climates, and minimizes algae growth in grout lines. While typically more expensive than ceramic tiles initially, their longevity and reduced maintenance often make them more cost-effective over the life of the pool.
Polished porcelain can be slippery when wet. We recommend textured, honed, or structured finishes for pool applications. Many of our porcelain tiles come in anti-slip ratings suitable for wet areas.
Yes, but porcelain requires specialized diamond blades and tools due to its hardness. Professional installation is recommended. We offer cutting services for complex patterns and custom designs.
If the surface chips or scratches, the exposed material matches the surface color since the color/pattern runs throughout the tile thickness. This is particularly valuable in high-traffic pool areas.
Excellent for saltwater pools! Their near-zero porosity prevents salt penetration and corrosion. They're more resistant to salt damage than many natural stones and some ceramics.
Rectified tiles are precisely cut to exact dimensions for minimal grout lines (1/16 inch). Non-rectified have more variation requiring wider grout lines. For pools, rectified allows for cleaner, more precise installations.
