Sodium Hypochlorite Solution, commonly known as liquid chlorine or bleach, is an effective and economical sanitizer for swimming pool water treatment. This liquid chlorine solution typically contains 10-15% available chlorine and provides rapid sanitation without adding stabilizers or other compounds to the water. It is particularly useful for shock treatments, algae control, and routine sanitation in both residential and commercial pools.

Liquid chlorine is one of the most cost-effective sanitizers for swimming pools, especially for commercial facilities that require large quantities. It doesn't increase calcium hardness or cyanuric acid levels, making it suitable for pools with water balance concerns. Proper handling requires care due to its corrosive nature, and it should be added to the pool in the evening or at night to minimize chlorine loss from sunlight before it has time to work effectively.
For 10% solution: 1 liter per 10,000 liters (2,640 gallons) raises chlorine by approximately 10 ppm. For regular maintenance: add 0.5-1 liter per 10,000 liters every 2-3 days to maintain 1-3 ppm chlorine.
Add in the evening or at night to minimize chlorine loss from sunlight. Ensure pump is running for at least 4 hours after addition for proper circulation.
NEVER mix liquid chlorine with other pool chemicals, especially acids or algaecides. Always add chemicals separately with adequate circulation time between additions.
Store in a cool, dark, well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight and other chemicals. Keep containers tightly sealed. Storage life is 3-6 months as strength degrades over time.
