The Swimming Pool Starting Block is an essential competition equipment designed for competitive swimming starts. Our starting blocks feature anti-slip surfaces, adjustable footrests, and proper height specifications according to FINA (International Swimming Federation) standards. These blocks provide swimmers with stable platforms for powerful dive starts, contributing to faster race times and reduced injury risk.
We offer various starting block models including fixed-height blocks for standard installations and adjustable-height blocks for multi-purpose pools. All blocks include textured anti-slip surfaces on both the top platform and the incline, grab handles for backstroke starts, and secure anchoring systems. The materials are selected for durability, corrosion resistance, and consistent performance in wet pool environments.
Starting blocks are mandatory for competitive swimming events and are also valuable training tools for swim teams. Proper block design considers ergonomics, safety, and performance optimization. Our blocks are suitable for school competitions, university swim programs, professional training facilities, and international competition venues. They can be permanently installed or designed for removable use in multi-purpose pools.
FINA standards require: platform height 0.5-0.75m above water, platform depth ≥0.5m, width ≥0.5m, incline angle 10°, and backstroke handles at 0.3-0.6m above water. Our blocks meet or exceed all these requirements.
Blocks require reinforced deck areas capable of supporting dynamic loads. Installation needs proper structural assessment, waterproofing, and secure anchoring. We provide installation consultation for your specific pool.
Typically one block per lane. For 8-lane competition pools, 8 blocks are standard. Some facilities install blocks only on competition ends for multi-purpose pools.
Starting blocks should only be used by swimmers who have been properly trained in dive starts. They are not recommended for recreational swimming or beginners without supervision and instruction.
Monthly inspection of anti-slip surfaces, anchor points, and handles. Regular cleaning with non-abrasive cleaners. Check for corrosion, especially in saltwater pools. Professional inspection recommended annually.
