Proper pool brushing is a critical maintenance task that should be performed weekly for optimal pool health. Our wall brushes make this task efficient and effective. Different bristle types are recommended for different pool surfaces: soft nylon for vinyl liners and fiberglass, medium stiffness for painted surfaces, and stiff bristles or stainless steel for concrete and plaster pools.
For vinyl liners and fiberglass, use soft nylon bristles. For painted concrete, use medium nylon. For plaster, gunite, or exposed aggregate, use stiff nylon or polypropylene brushes. Stainless steel is only for very tough stains on concrete/plaster.
Brush walls and floors at least once per week. During algae-prone seasons or after heavy use, increase to 2-3 times per week. Always brush before vacuuming for best results.
Yes, most standard wall brushes work for both. However, for corners and steps, specialized brushes provide better cleaning. Our angled brushes are particularly effective for floor-to-wall corners.
With proper care, nylon brushes last 1-2 seasons, polypropylene 2-3 seasons, and stainless steel 3-5 seasons. Rinse after each use and store out of direct sunlight.
